Brain Farm Aerial Reel 2012

I will just say this video  allowed me to escape into a bit of a fantasy land for about 3 mins.  Yeah there is a RED BULL helicopter in it but don’t let that take away from this really beautifully done aerial shot.  Make sure you watch in HD…just click the HD button.

Brain Farm provides precise stabilized HD aerial footage using both the Cineflex ELITE and Cineflex V14 HD for film, commercial, and television work throughout the entire world. Video To Watch: Aether Chasing Winter

Great video, great advertisement for Aether Gear…nice gear BTW…

We’ve been a big fan of Aether’s jackets ever since they came on our radar. Why? Because they push function and aesthetics equally and do it better than almost anyone else in the gear business. We also love a good riding video as much as anyone else, and Aether really did this one right. Continue reading

North Korean Motorcycle Diaries

Wow….some New Zealanders get to traverse on their bikes South to North Korea…amazing opportunity and yet so sad…

Published on 10 Dec 2013

For the past decade, New Zealanders Joanne and Gareth Morgan have been living the semiretired lifestyle of their dreams, traveling around the world on motorcycles alongside a few of their closest friends. They’ve traversed all seven continents on their bikes, with routes as varied as Venice to Beijing, Florida to northern Alaska, and South Africa to London, just to name a few. Gareth funds his own trips, many of which he uses to pursue philanthropic endeavors, particularly in the social-investment space. He is able to do so with money he’s made as an economist and investment manager—one who has earned the reputation for criticizing unethical practices in New Zealand’s financial-services industry. Crash Outtakes from AltRider’s 2013 BMW R 1200 GS W

Not only is Jeremy the owner of AltRider but he is one hell of a rider.  Watch this video and see the new WC BMW 1200 take a tumble but more importantly see how the new crash bars AltRider has developed for this bike protects the fairing.  So….Jeremy and Erik where are the uppers for the F800 crash bars? ;-)

Very Neat Camping Stove

This seems like a great idea…practical for bringing along on a bike?  I think so…take a look at this smart gadget.  What do you think?

Stove

You can add a kettle and grill too.  Small enough and light enough for bike travel?

Smoother gear Changing, gear shifting on your motorcycle.

Cheryl and I practice this technique as much as we can….do you agree this is a proper way to change gears without using the clutch or is it bad practice?

Forgive me if this sounds a little remedial, but I see a lot of guys out on the road who don’t know how to do this. Works on any bike, be it crotch rocket, assless chaps mobile or two-wheeled Hummer H2.

The benefit is smoother, faster shifts and slightly lower clutch wear. It’s just easier and will better enable you to work shifting into the rest of your riding.

Super easy to do. As you accelerate and are approaching the point where you want to shift up, sneak your toe under the lever and apply a little upwards pressure. Now, quickly close the throttle a little while keeping that upward pressure on the shift liver, feel the gear slip home, and open it back up. Continue reading

“Aren’t you afraid to die?”

Best quote: “People say to me ‘Aren’t you afraid to die?’, and I say ‘Well, are you afraid to live?’”

I Love videos like this…so articulate and those of us who ride will totally relate to this video….I know I am obsessed with bikes but when I watched this I know I am not alone.  He talks about 2-3 weeks to ride….we are fortunate to have had many weeks on board or our bikes…making us want to stretch out each trip to months.

ENJOY! Continue reading

If you love Bald Eagles….

You need to watch this if you love Bald Eagles like I do.  The weekend of November 23rd, Cheryl and I will be heading out only about an hour east of where we live to check out the annual eagles feast.  Thousands of eagles all ages arrive to feed on the spawning salmon around Harrison Mills, BC.  I go every year but this year Cheryl is coming with her high-powered new work camera.  We don’t have a lens like Christian used in this video, a local photographer but I am certain we will get some great shots.

Enjoy!  We are truly lucky to live so close to this annual phenomenon.
