This is WHAT ADV riding is all about….those who ride the pavement only…need to watch this more than folks like us! 😉
Once again thanks Gary from AK for this great idea for a posting. It’s that time of year when many of you will be heading up to Alaska for your own adventure. This time last year we were planning our own Northern excursion. So, we are envious of those who will be making this trip. The Dalton Highway is a MUST ride and getting yourself to Deadhorse in one piece would be the goal. 😉 Here is a great web site which has all the information you will need to learn about the Dalton and it’s services or should I say lack of services. Bring extra gas and enjoy this unpredictable yet beautiful highway!
I have also included some previous posts of ours that shows you where we stayed and a place where you can change your tires or oil!
If anyone has questions about this road and what you might experience please feel free to post in the comments. Continue reading “The Famous DALTON HIGHWAY!”
Military and motorcycles have been together ever since they invented motorcycles. In the old days, motorcycles were used mostly for dispatch riding, faster and more efficient than horses. But even today, all armed forces use motorcycles.
Here are 56 military motorcycles, some old, some new, some new but old, and the last one is a bit sad, if not outright funny.
This is wicked….there are 196 countries in the world and 164 have visited our BLOG at least once. We are so thankful so many places have taken a look at what is going on here and seem to come back too. I feel like we once again need to thank everyone for making this BLOG so much fun!
Do you see your country on this map?
This reminds me of Harry Connick Jr. He loves to photobomb pics!
It’s a bold statement but these are the 15 greatest animal photobombs the Sifter could find around the web. Various list posts and Google image searches led us here. Further investigation on Tineye and Reddit allowed us to actually find the original source and authenticate over half of the images (there are a ton of Photoshopped animal photobombs online). We’d love your help identifying the original source of the other half
If you feel strongly about any glaring omissions let us know in the comments below! Now have a chuckle over these incredible animal photobombs!

March 25th 2012
The morning started off heading out to Chilliwack at 0700. About 1 degree Celsius but look at what I see all the way out to the staging area for the Annual Dual Sport BC Newbie Ride. SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been so wet and miserable here when I saw the sunrise it was meant to be a good day. Cheryl did not come with me because she has not been sleeping well and I am glad she did not come. This ride was not for sleepy riders. There are a few short videos in this post…hope you watch them to get a flavor of the day and all pics are click-able!
Heading East through Mission, BC to get to Highway 1 for the fast way out to Chilliwack. About an hour from where we live.
last video until I do a proper ride report from yesterdays ride. This is how it looked from my view and it was exactly what I needed to do on Sunday! Needed to get out and just get dirty and have fun!
There is nothing like knowing the owner of a company that makes some really top-notch accessories for ADV bikes. Dave from Motooverland aka MOD not only is a great rider himself that tests all of his gear but a really nice guy in general. I rode with him all day at the Dual Sport BC Spring ride on Sunday, March 25th, 2012 and what a respectful leader of a group that was a big as 8 at one time. Dave lives in Vancouver, BC and takes his time developing key items for bikes that make sense and lasts. His skid plate, newly re-released tool box, side stand foot print and rear rack are perfect accessories for your bike. Have a look at his website
and see for yourself. If you have any questions Dave is good to answer them and he ships all over the place. See video!
Not sure what to call this….I guess a crash 😉 More pics and video to come from today’s Newbie Dual Sport BC Spring Ride….it was awesome. No damage to me, Leslie or the bike!
or if you prefer
Cheryl is sleeping in and I am heading out to the annual Spring ride sponsored by many local businesses and of course Dual Sport BC. Here is what I can expect for the bigger ADV bikes and I will probably be the only grrl riding an ADV bike. If there are any other grrls there they will most likely be on a dirt bike. That is at least what I have seen in the past on these rides. Too bad more grrls do not get out. Hopefully if I don’t crash I can get some decent pics and video. Wish me luck! 😉
The EZ C Loop
There are few things in my life that surprise me or shock me at this point. Yesterday, March 23, 2012 at about 1800 hrs Cheryl came home from work and we had this conversation….. ME = Cheryl 😉
What can you say about dogs? Well, before moving to Canada I, meaning Leslie was a cat person. Since meeting Cheryl we have a house full of dogs now. Large, medium and small in size and all have such different personalities. I can never imagine our lives without a dog now. Some say they unconditionally love you. I disagree. They love you if you care for them and love them back. The condition is just respect and mutual affection.
Once again Gary from AK has shared these pics with us and have ended up on our BLOG because if you have been following us you know we LOVE our bikes but we LOVE dogs, wildlife and LIFE. Thanks again Gary and BTW your calendar you and Deb sent us is prominently hanging on our wall!
We hope you find the joy in these pics, the sadness and devotion both man and dog have for one another. Each tells its own story! Continue reading “DOGS!”
This is where Leslie works now. BC Transplant.
After two months of intensive training with another 6 more to go at least. Whenever I may have a doubt as to why I took this incredible yet stressful job something like this video comes across my computer and I am reminded why I am devoting myself to organ donation. Not a top notch quality video but it’s the thought that counts!

For my English class I had to do this project which has now become VERY near and dear to my heart. Thank you to Tyler Smith and BC Transplants.
