Not going to do a formal post but here is our second 2013 BMW F800GS to complete our garage. Pick up was yesterday, Oct. 13 2012 and while Cheryl’s bike was in for her first 1000KM service I got the pleasure of buying my bike this day in the pouring Vancouver rain.

The happy couple/pair – we are back in action together! 😉
Nice wet ride home
The rain was heavy and then just a misting annoyance

Shows the colour pretty well in the pic!
And finally our garage is happy to be back to normal!
Come back and check out the blog as we add accessories to mine. They will be just like Cheryl’s but we are missing some things we need. As the 3rd party companies catch up to the slight changes in this years model we will be adding hand guards, a shield, aux lights that we have…just need a mount and other things. Stuff we have our luggage mounts that fit now, mudsling, we had the MOD skid plate and kickstand enlarger installed by the dealer…LOVE MOD stuff, Kriega fork seal protectors we have and the Original Grip Buddies that make the skinning OEM grips into a comfy ride. Stay tuned! 😉
hey girls!, congrats on the new bike! 🙂 it definitely looks awesome!, just out of curiosity, why the change from the F650 to the F800, bc of the power?, or bc the F650 is not as high as the F800.
BTW, awesome bikes! 🙂
Just a change, we like the extra HP for the road, 21 inch front wheel, stance, looks and the wider bars/inverted forks for suspension.
Very nice! You’re brave running new tyres on the greasy roads before they’re scrubbed in 🙂 – an opportunity to test out the ASC system?
From what I can see in the pics, the only visual differences between the EU and CA versions are the amber/red side reflectors and the CA indicators are about an inch longer…
even if we did not change the tires out we would have had new tires to ride home in the rain. i took extra precautions. 😉
Meant to ask – looks like the redesign fairing is much deeper at the knees and I notice the wind deflector is no longer offered for the F8GS – do you find the weather protection much better on it?
Still contemplating tyres here also, they’re either going to be the K60 Scouts as you’ve recommended or the Karoo 2(T)s for the winter… we get a little bit of snow here on occasion but the it never amounts to more than a bit of slush on the roads and both of those tyres are M/S rated… and next spring maybe a set of Anakee 2s for long distance highway riding… Too many choices!!
I think after yesterday in the rain there appears to be decent protection…hard to tell since we did not have this bike before….the fairing is more substantial than the 650 that I know.
