Evolution of a Custom Seat to be con’t…..

Janice from Slim Signature Seats in Vancouver, BC is trying to create a customized seat for my BMW F800GS.  I am excited to see what she can do to make this new 2013 BMW a more comfy street ride.  So far we are impressed with the ESA option which allows the rider to choose between a firmer or softer suspension.  This has proven to be a great addition to this class of bike.  I am liking the ESA so much that I can honestly say in comfortable mode the BMW compares to the Triumph Tiger 800.  Now, let’s hope the seat completes the over all feel.  Stay tuned!

The Top 75 ‘Pictures of the Day’ for 2012

Some of these I have posted before but here they are with new ones in a single post!

After the positive reception from last year’s “Top 50 ‘Pictures of the Day’ for 2011“, the Sifter promised to highlight the top 25 ‘Pictures of the Day‘ at the end of every quarter, eventually culminating in an epic Top 100 for 2012.

It’s hard to believe we’re already into the final quarter of 2012. With that, here are the Sifter’s Top 75 ‘Pictures of the Day‘ for this year. If any image really intrigues you, be sure to click the title link or picture itself. That will take you to the individual post page where you can find out more information.

*Please note the photographs themselves were not necessarily taken in 2012, they just happened to be featured as a ‘Picture of the Day’ this year. The pictures are also listed in reverse chronological order. There is no ranking between the photos themselves :)

Amazing spans, and some beautiful pictures

I do not know where some of these are located.  If you know can you post the location in the comments?  Thanks!

This is yet another post where a person had gathered a few amazing pictures of some beautiful bridges, and another person had added a few spans, and I found that some real interesting bridges/shots where missing. So here they are… a number of spans that are just great looking.

On Location | KLIM

Sounds too good to be true but apparently it is!

Rigby Idaho is central to some of the world’s most authentic, adventuresome and demanding riding conditions. It’s no wonder why KLIM creates the most technical riding gear available… we live where it’s most needed!

I shot this during the annual lady bug swarm here in the mountains above Boulder Colorado. Mostly meant to be a chance to play with new cameras while spending time with my son.

That TIme Of Year Again

I know many people take their bikes off the road this time of year.  Over where we live we are fortunate to be able to ride all year long yet many don’t for one reason or another.  Please take our POLL… 😉
If OTHER what is the reason?

Combination of Wild life and BMW F800

All in Spanish but I sure got this idea behind this incredible relationship!

Al loro Beto le encanta salir a pasear en moto con su amigo Juan José

Vaya donde vaya, vuela a la par, mientras va conversando.

Anyone can translate? 😉 Thanks to a YouTube Channel follower for this video!

SALMON TIME!

Which means almost Bald Eagle season by the spawning stream, called Kanaka Creek by our house.  Salmon are here and shortly after usually about 20-30 eagles hang out to feed on the dying salmon.  A small spawning stream runs by our house.

Not too far away is a place called Chehalis-Harrison Estuary. This is where at times you can see over 7000 Bald Eagles at a time enjoying a free meal of Salmon between end of Oct through Dec.  We are known for our Bald Eagles this time of year and it truly is an amazing sight to see.  I hope to get out there this year with camera in hand.

Despite Death Toll, Motorcycle Groups Strive to Muzzle U.S. Regulators

Anti-helmet law demonstrators in recent rally at state capitol in Albany, N.Y. (Skip Dickstein / Albany Times Union)

This always a heated debate…I think it’s simple….DO you, yourself think you are IMPORTANT and should take every precaution to minimize RISKS?  Who cares about laws and politics…WHY would anyone NOT want to protect their own BODY as best as they can?????? AM I missing something??????

IMPORTANT ARTICLE AND AS USUAL CONTRAVERSIAL! BUT WHY?????? WHY WOULD ANYONE NOT WEAR A HELMET?  FOR THOSE OUT THERE WHO DO NOT WEAR PROPER GEAR DO YOU DRIVE YOUR CAR WITHOUT WEARING A SEAT BELT?

WASHINGTON – In a highly touted safety achievement, deaths on the nation’s roads and highways have fallen sharply in recent years, to the lowest total in more than a half-century. But motorcyclists have missed out on that dramatic improvement, and the news for them has been increasingly grim.

Pictures of the Day

Got my bike last Saturday and just hit over 700 KM…first service scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27.  Some pictures after I picked up my stock tires.  We had Heidenau K60’s installed before we both picked up our bikes and sold both sets of Anakee’s to a nice Triumph Tiger owner. 😉

Mission 26 The Big Endeavour-MUST SEE

A very special thanks to the City of Inglewood, Chief of Police Mark Fronterotta, Lieutenant James Madia, Sergeant Dirk Dewachter, and to the Men and Women of the Inglewood Police Department. None of this would have been possible without them.

This project was only made possible by the help of a truly amazing and talented timelapse team which included; Joe Capra, Chris Pritchard, Brian Hawkins, Andrew Walker, Ryan Killackey and myself.

Pictures of the Day

While I just got my bike last Saturday, I have spent my week off from work running around trying to get the bike set up for anything.  Cheryl’s bike has crash bars, risers, and a head light protector waiting for her to have the time to install them. 😉 Oh, and I need my risers installed too…HINT! 😉

I was fortunate to be able to ride down to AltRider in Seattle and have them graciously install my bars and light guard.  Today, I went to see Janice aka Slim who will be working on my Renazco seat off my 650.  Janice will try to customize my seat with foam trimming and adding a gel pad.  WE are hoping to drop my seat height by 1/2 inch from the OEM low seat.  Cross you fingers this works.

Before crash bars
