We just found out that DUKE has passed away. Gary & Deb from Anchorage sent us an email saying he passed on Nov. 16th, 2012. We thought this would be a great way to remember DUKE by reblogging our post from the Summer of 2011. RIP DUKE!!!!!

Duke lives with Dean who still works and everyday after Dean leaves for work Duke comes over to Gary & Deb’s house right down the dirt road.  After we had breakfast, which was a deliciously prepared meal compliments of Gary

Duke was patiently waiting by the garage door to come into Gary & Deb’s home and be their friend for the day.  You see Duke has two homes.  One by night, one by day.  Duke has a very strict routine as well.  When he comes over he gets treats and hangs with Deb & Gary.  Each day he gets to go to the dog park for a daily walk around the University lake too.  We came along today and Duke seemed to…

 Background
After almost four decades under US administration as the easternmost part of the UN Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, the Marshall Islands attained independence in 1986 under a Compact of Free Association. Compensation claims continue as a result of US nuclear testing on some of the atolls between 1947 and 1962. The Marshall Islands hosts the US Army Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA) Reagan Missile Test Site, a key installation in the US missile defense network.
