After taking my bike off road for really the first “technical” trail since I have owned it…I am happy to say this bike kicks ass….but…and there is always a but…when I get around to posting videos and picture of March 24th 2013 Dual Sport BC Spring Newbie ride…you will see I have one complaint about my awesome bike.  Have a watch of a professional video…Oh, to have a cinematographer in the family! Second video is me showing you the front end suspension of my bike.

 Background
At the close of World War I, the Czechs and Slovaks of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire merged to form Czechoslovakia. During the interwar years, having rejected a federal system, the new country’s leaders were frequently preoccupied with meeting the demands of other ethnic minorities within the republic, most notably the Sudeten Germans and the Ruthenians (Ukrainians). On the eve of World War II, the Czech part of the country was forcibly annexed to the Third Reich, and the Slovaks declared independence as an ally of Nazi Germany. After the war, a reunited but truncated Czechoslovakia (less Ruthenia) fell within the Soviet sphere of influence. In 1968, an invasion by Warsaw Pact troops ended the efforts of the country’s leaders to liberalize Communist Party rule and create “socialism with a human face.” Anti-Soviet demonstrations the following year ushered in a period of harsh repression known as “normalization.” With the collapse of Soviet-backed authority in 1989, Czechoslovakia regained its democracy through a peaceful “Velvet Revolution.” On 1 January 1993, the country underwent a “velvet divorce” into its two national components, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Icon Variant Helmet


Love the look of the DS helmets do not love the drag many report at highways speeds.  This Icon looks and sounds like a decent DS alternative to its more expensive cousins like BMW, Arai and Shoei.

I am honored to be invited to speak at PACIFIC MOTOSPORTS our BMW dealer.

Free food, KLIM there and the intro of the new BMW 1200GS, plus me!  Cheryl is still in Ottawa but I get to share many pictures and stories about our Adventure riding endeavors!  What would be better than being around like minded folks/riders….good food and a great dealer?  Ummm…Cheryl being there but I think I can handle it!  😉

Hope some readers of this blog who are local will come down on Friday, March 22!  I think it’s going to be a fun night!
