Mini Moon part III (click the pics)

We just got back on Thursday, August 28th from a 4 night mini-moon bike ride…it was amazing. Rode some back country roads we have never been on and the best part got to see yet another part of our beautiful Province. Weather was OK for the most part until the last 2 days.  It rained on us riding back to Pemberton via the Highline and then it POURED on us heading home.  No biggie we always stay dry wearing our KLIM Traverse gear.  We started out on the Sea to Sky Highway the 99.  Can’t get much closer to the water when you ride this route.

It’s a scenic drive and for those who are not from here this road takes you to Whistler the home of the Winter 2010 Olympics.  Continue reading “Mini Moon part III (click the pics)”

I met this photographer out where I live last fall.  Christian Sasse is an amazing photographer who just stumbled upon his talent by chance.  Nice guy and LOVE this tribute to his work by his friend Mark.

Magnificent Bald Eagle photos from rising artist (and world-record amateur astronomer) Christian Sasse. This video also features Sasse’s images of snow owls, a blue heron, an osprey and his amazing astronomy pics.

Latest Country to hit 1000 unique views – Croatia Population: 4,475,611

 Background
The lands that today comprise Croatia were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until the close of World War I. In 1918, the Croats, Serbs, and Slovenes formed a kingdom known after 1929 as Yugoslavia. Following World War II, Yugoslavia became a federal independent Communist state under the strong hand of Marshal TITO. Although Croatia declared its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, it took four years of sporadic, but often bitter, fighting before occupying Serb armies were mostly cleared from Croatian lands, along with a majority of Croatia’s ethnic Serb population. Under UN supervision, the last Serb-held enclave in eastern Slavonia was returned to Croatia in 1998. In April 2009, Croatia joined NATO; Croatia signed the EU Accession Treaty in December 2011 and ratified the Treaty in January, 2012. Croatia will become a member after all 27 EU members ratify the treaty, with a target date of July 2013. Continue reading “Latest Country to hit 1000 unique views – Croatia Population: 4,475,611”

Our Mini-Moon Trip

I have not gotten around to even posting our highlights from our wedding. Perhaps a little overwhelmed with all the pics and the event itself.  Wedding was great and a post will come soon. Right now we are on a mini-moon, not our honeymoon bike trip.  We are out and about in our own “backyard” of BC exploring.  Heading up the Hurley Forest road to check out the Tyax Wilderness Lodge in the middle of nowhere.

Happy with our choice and dealer,,,Pacific Motosports in Richmond, BC, ADV friendly and knowledgeable.

Advgrrl Motorcycle Adventures & More

Quick post because since we are so public with our motorcycle lives, trips and oh just about everything…I feel the need to make one post about WHY we bought BMW’s versus Triumph’s.  This will be my only post as I really do not feel the need to overly justify how we spend our money.  But since receiving quite a few emails, messages etc saying our credibility is in question about how I express my opinions and reviews I feel the need.

#205 = Burundi Population: 10,888,321

Welcome the 205th Country to visit our BLOG….We are so grateful that so many countries have stopped by…it’s a very cool feeling…

 Background
Burundi’s first democratically elected president was assassinated in October 1993 after only 100 days in office, triggering widespread ethnic violence between Hutu and Tutsi factions. More than 200,000 Burundians perished during the conflict that spanned almost a dozen years. Hundreds of thousands of Burundians were internally displaced or became refugees in neighboring countries. An internationally brokered power-sharing agreement between the Tutsi-dominated government and the Hutu rebels in 2003 paved the way for a transition process that led to an integrated defense force, established a new constitution in 2005, and elected a majority Hutu government in 2005. The government of President Pierre NKURUNZIZA, who was reelected in 2010, continues to face many political and economic challenges. Continue reading “#205 = Burundi Population: 10,888,321”

Something for the SENIORS out there…..

Completely off topic but very interesting and useful we think….

Steve Herman
As I was waiting in line behind an older gentleman at Wendy’s recently,I heard him ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and
charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that
seniors over age 55 …get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.) Continue reading “Something for the SENIORS out there…..”
