Day 25 – Virtual Tour of Myrtle Beach

February 7th 2015 – Day 25 – Tourist Day (videos and pics)

The countdown begins…UGH!

I have to admit I really like being a tourist at times.  It was still “cold” for many but I found it perfect as usual.  Around 60F with a light breeze.  I am not really going to say much in this post.  I know I say that all the time but I am tired not only from walking about 10 miles but from dinner at Margaritaville and 2 beers.  Yep only 2. 

Tomorrow, Sunday it is supposed to get to 70.  I have checked the weather all along the east coast for the next week and I believe I can make it to Long Island.

Although it got busier as the afternoon came the beach and shops were not ever really busy.  I have said this so many times, coming to areas in the Winter that thrive in Spring, Summer and Fall has worked out so well for me.

After the beach I went back to my hotel, washed up and went for a walk around the shops inland a bit.  I walked a lot today and ended up eating way too much for dinner so had to walk more.  I am beat.  I can see everyone in this hotel getting all doled up to go out while I have PJ bottoms on and a t-shirt waiting for bed.  😉  Such a rider eh?

Many of the rides are not open and some of the shops but still enough.  There is a BEST mini golf course ever here.  👍  All I did was walk around and people watch and went in and out of stores.  There are all these feeding stations for the fish in the lake.  Not sure how I feel about that.  You lean over and there are hundreds of fish begging for food as well as ducks.  Seems weird but then again I guess they are well fed.

I had an Epiphany today

While I was walking around a picture of my youth was posted on my FB personal page by one of my cousins in Florida.  Has to be part of this post…can you figure out which one I am?  Such a funny picture I bet I was maybe 9 or 10?

and…one more thing…I saw this T-Shirt in a store window.  Another flash back to my past.  I used to LOVE Farrah Fawcett and this shirt just killed me.  I had the poster and so did my brother.

So that was my day mainly on foot but also on the bike.  My mileage so far is…

Tomorrow I am heading to Williamsburg, VA to visit some friends.  Each day from now on I will pay close attention to the weather and I also need to find out if my parents long driveway will be plowed.  Now wouldn’t that be something?  I make it all the way to my parents drive and can’t get my bike up it?  Soon this incredible trip will be over and back to BC I go to finish up my life there.  Not sure when I will be actually moving but I hope by early Spring.  I need to find a job eventually too.
