Happy ONE Year Anniversary to ME?

January 30th , 2015 – Day 16 & 17

My long road

I had this whole reflection post about my last year drafted but I deleted it.  Today is my one year anniversary that my ex told me she was going to leave and never looked back. I am not not going to harp on the details but in a nutshell, after 17 years together as common law, only 4 months married I was dumped.  On February 2nd, she was gone forever and we are legally separated without even discussing anything.  I never asked her to stay, I went along with her decision. I have done quite a few big RR’s and smaller one’s but what makes this one different is I am no longer with my thought to be partner for life Cheryl. Let me back up…Cheryl and I were partners as common law for 15 years before she proposed to me in March 2012. In August of 2013 we had a destination wedding that turned out to be the best day of my life. We shared our relationship with 62 of our closest family and friends over a 2 day party. KLIM’s ALTITUDE Gore Tex Shell – Part I the Jacket

**Please all women interested in this Jacket please try it on with your liner of choice before you buy it.  The collar could be an issue regarding how tight it will feel around your neck.  TRY THIS suit on in general before BUYING!  It will be in your BEST interest…trust me!**

Let me preference this review by saying I am just your average run of the mill female ADV rider and all my reviews are honest based on WHAT I believe and hope they are  useful somehow.  Had to get that out because I get many emails from folks criticizing I am not an expert…no kidding…i know that and completely aware. 😉 Now, on to my initial review.

Today I will review the Jacket and for tomorrow I will review the pants. PICS  are all clickable for larger versions

**Remember to support your dealers who sell KLIM.  Not everyone does.  My dealer Pacific Motosports does, and for all you online buyers again shop Revzilla through this blog…great online company.  Tons a great companies and more seem to carrying the great line of KLIM products.

2014 CROSS COUNTRY TRIP-see bottom of post

After going back and forth as to where I should take my SOLO trip this year I think I have come up with a plan.  Head East, go see my family and some friends and then head West.  I think it’s doable…May 17 – June 16?  Need to replace my SPOT CONNECT as my other one seems to like to eat batteries more than usual and the battery lid does not like to stay closed.  So, new Connect on order and over the next few months I shall get the camping gear together, check out it twice, before I leave get the bike all tuned up with new K60 tires and off I will head into the USA and Canada.  We did this trip, different route in 2010.

Connect

As usual I will try to do a live report from the road on the ADV forum or maybe just the F800 forum not sure yet and the BLOG, with updates on our Face Book page too.  Should be fun to get out there on my own.  I have taken shorter trips SOLO but not 12,000 KM’s worth.   Continue reading “2014 CROSS COUNTRY TRIP-see bottom of post”

30 Hour Getaway, 900 KM’s = Priceless

Day 1, Part I (all pics are clickable)

As many who read this blog know first hand our everyday lives can get in the way of our hobbies.  Since January 2012 until present day, Cheryl and I have both changed our careers.  Leslie joining BC Transplant as an In Hospital Organ Donation Coordinator/Organ Donation Specialist and Cheryl still with the RCMP but now well into her apprenticeship to become a Forensic Expert.  With this reality of ours, getting away on the bikes for a long stretch of time is not happening as of late. So….what to do???  Make the best of the time we get off and get away.

On the Road Again

We have 3 nights starting Sunday to get away on the bikes. Where should we go? Been everywhere both in the states and BC but we want some dirt and then a place to relax.

Ideas?

UPDATE: We are going here

TYAX Wilderness Lodge

Our Day

Surrounded by RCMP Mounties we ended up having a great wedding at the Westcoast Wilderness Lodge in Egmont BC.

More pics and posts to come. We are staying another night to relax. Guests are long gone and it’s just us. What a day to remember!
