AltRider, Bikini Barrista & Chuckanut in the Dark

November 19th 2014 – My Seattle Day Trippin’ to AltRider!

All pics clickable and videos throughout this post…short clips

Mileage 678 KM’s – left at 0600 and arrive home at 1930.  Weather?  Perfect, cloudy, some sun, cool temperatures and NO RAIN!

I left in the dark and came home in the dark.  LOVE my new Aux lights and the LED low beam.  Truly helped me when I decided to ride a road in Washington called the Chuckanut Drive.  More about that later.

Once again I made an impromptu decision to finally get down to AltRider to meet Erik to get some upper crash bars installed on my bike.  Erik and I tried to arrange this prior to my X Country 2014 Trip  Continue reading “AltRider, Bikini Barrista & Chuckanut in the Dark”

Pouring Rain, EWS error code, Sun, More Rain & the Olyimpic Penisula

This what I woke up to leaving La Conner this morning.  It was an on again off again rainy day.  Some pooling on the roads and just bad drivers made for an interesting ride at times.

But before I took of from the Channel Lodge I had to take some pics of the reception area.  I love this little lodge.  Has a great cozy feel to it. Continue reading “Pouring Rain, EWS error code, Sun, More Rain & the Olyimpic Penisula”

Crossing the Border – Day trippin’ in Washington State

October 30th 2014

I made another last minute decision to take a 2 night ride across the border into Washington State.  First time I think I have had no dogs to care for and absolutely no other real responsibilities  at home.  This prompted me to get away yet again. So, off I left around 1430 on Thursday to head down to Washington.  Short back country ride to La Conner for the night.

Pouring rain, lot’s of wind and then everything calmed down as I pulled into La Conner.  Known for it’s tulip festival in the Spring. Continue reading “Crossing the Border – Day trippin’ in Washington State”

2014 Fall DUAL SPORT BC Newbie Ride

2014 Annual Fall Dual Sport BC ride is a group ride for all size bikes and skill. There are three routes, A, B and C. C is the big bike adventure route. Great organization, great people and always a great ride.

October 19th, 2014

Before I post about today’s ride I think I should catch up the BLOG about where I am at in my separation.  Again somethings should remain private but others can be shared since I have shared so much.  I guess you can say I am in the mourning phase of the loss of my relationship/marriage.  I will mention my ex’s name only once and then she will be referred to as my ex. 😉  Cheryl left on January 30th, 2014 and never looked back.  Since then I was fortunate to be able to buy her out of my house and keep it.

Just like that, some money and the swipe of a pen she was erased from ever owning my house.  We are completely separated and I would suppose the next step would be a divorce in 2015.  So, 2014 has been a struggle for me yet I seem to be able to continuously ride my bike.  It’s been a busy Fall fitting power rides, leisurely rides as well as the annual BC Dual Sport off-road ride too.

Tofino, BC Part 2 – click on the pics

A few weekends ago I went on a two night trip to Tofino.  It’s a great little ocean town on the west coast of Vancouver Island.  My goal in the future when off call from work and off work in general is to try to take as many “little” trips as I can to get away SOLO.  I find these trips to be helpful for the soul and exploring places near and far from my own home actually quite adventurous and rewarding.

When I arrived in Tofino is was a beautiful day but you could tell by looking out into the Pacific a storm was brewing.  This place is not only known for it’s surfing but also WELL known for it’s storm watching.

The system that passed through when I was there wasn’t anything too exciting.  No thunder, lightning etc…just pouring rain but gave the beach, the water a much different ambiance to this area. A much different feel then when the sun was out.  Continue reading “Tofino, BC Part 2 – click on the pics”

It’s not getting any easier…

MiserySubheds

Dear Blog…my journal about everything.  Since January 30th 2014 I have been consumed with the hurt that comes with a separation of a relationship I thought was supposed to be forever.  As our legal issues get closer to a close, I can’t help to but feel even sadder.  Time certainly has past by, I am hesitant to even talk about my separation to anyone because it feels so old news.  I feel at this point I am becoming a burden on others and I can sort of tell.  Even when I reach out…at times specifically ask to talk I no longer have the few who used to respond.  Continue reading “It’s not getting any easier…”

Day 27 – Looking for Grizzly’s

Arrived home June 14th, 2014 – these are catch up posts. Day 27 was June 12th.

After spending time in South Dakota and Wyoming I have a whole new appreciation for this region.  Although much of the states can appear to be “flat” everything this time around for me, verses in 2010 when I rode x country had a beauty to it.
