I got these new LED signal inserts for my 2013 BMW F800GS. I feel the need to deck my bike in LED lights wherever I can. Presently, I have a LED low beam which has been really great and bright. My AUX LED on steroids, and now LED signals using inserts.

I figured that when I put anything on my bike that has real life testing to prove my dedication to a manufacturer or online company that has great customer service and products I need to share. All of us when buying bikes look for the best value, protection, and items that assist us with better visibility, etc….real life reviews are what I look for and they are hard to come by when reading magazine reviews. Just for the record I am not paid to endorse any products. I just share what works well for me. I also share what I would buy again and again.

November 19th 2014 – My Seattle Day Trippin’ to AltRider!

Mileage 678 KM’s – left at 0600 and arrive home at 1930. Weather? Perfect, cloudy, some sun, cool temperatures and NO RAIN!
I left in the dark and came home in the dark. LOVE my new Aux lights and the LED low beam. Truly helped me when I decided to ride a road in Washington called the Chuckanut Drive. More about that later.

Initially we had a deal with a company to make an install video and review the PDM60. But because I could not make good on my promise the deal sort of fell though. Went another route, bought two that we did not have to review and mine, Leslie will be installed by the dealer. Cheryl has little time to play with installations on our bikes but will hopefully be able to install the PDM60 on her bike after mine is done. Good thing about two exact bikes being in our garage…you can see or practice on one and then make good on the other. 😉
It’s always fun when you get a new bike and get to buy some big-ticket items but sometimes it’s the little less expensive farkles that make your bike your own.
Having owned BMW’s before, two ’10 F650GS’s, we have learned from our first time out of the gate what we want, need and who we want to buy from as in dealers/suppliers. The good news there are accessories for these bikes all over the place and so many choices and price ranges. I do most of the research for what goes on the bikes and Cheryl of course installs it all. Recently, we have been on a AltRider kick. Why? Well, the do make some great products like our crash bars, head light protector and rad guard but I have to say they ship so fast to Canada I can often get my order faster than I can ride down to my dealer here in BC. We pick and choose where and when we buy accessories/farkles based on impulse 😉 or as we can afford them.

Today was a great day to ride to AltRider. Why? It was not raining, cool enough to turn on a little heat, traffic wasn’t too bad, the AltRider gang were extremely friendly and helpful and I got to test out the ESA on the “infamous” I-5 from the border to Seattle.

It appears that BMW may have changed a few things on their new model. As for the frame, that seems to be the same as previous years so things like skid plates, luggage mounts etc should fit. But other accessories other than BMW parts might not fit. ADV Spec crash bars will not fit…so..hmmmm..has the frame changed too?
. ADV Spec has informed me that they believe their bars will fit as the frame seems once again to be the same as previously stated. They are not sure how their originals will look until they test them out on a new 2013. Stay turned!
We have found out this…our BMW hand guards do not fit as is, Touratech also right now do not have guards for this year bike. That would also mean Barkbuster hand guards need to be tweaked. I am waiting to hear back from them directly but one could assume they are running into the same fit issue.

Very hard to concentrate this week on work. We have a BIG garage sale coming up this weekend and we need to take some things off my bike, get it cleaned up and listed. Cheryl also wants to see if our Jesse Luggage Mounts fit on her 800. So far our BMW hand guards seem to NOT fit so we may have to modify them.
