“Aren’t you afraid to die?”

Best quote: “People say to me ‘Aren’t you afraid to die?’, and I say ‘Well, are you afraid to live?'”

I Love videos like this…so articulate and those of us who ride will totally relate to this video….I know I am obsessed with bikes but when I watched this I know I am not alone.  He talks about 2-3 weeks to ride….we are fortunate to have had many weeks on board or our bikes…making us want to stretch out each trip to months.

My New Panasonic GF3 Camera – Micro Four Thirds

I need to work out the low light issues I am having with this camera.  Can’t seem to figure out how to get more light without using the flash indoors as well as outdoors.  I have not loaded the manual yet thought I could figure this out on my own.  I will be enrolling in a 3 hour class as soon as I can to learn more about this new camera and how to work it better as well as just take awesome pictures.  I am in no way a photographer but I am at the point in my life I really want to learn more.  I will never be great because I lack patience and artistic flare but I can learn to improve. (SLIDE SHOW BELOW)

Midnight Sun | Iceland – Amazing HD, Time Elaspe Video

This has to be one of the best time elapse videos of ICELAND I have ever seen.  Iceland would be such an intriguing place to ride a bike.  Volcanic rocks, sand, unpredictable weather, landscape so unique and beautiful and such a small country.  Another dream of ours to ride here!  I have emailed the producer of this video Joe and he can not say enough about how beautiful Iceland is and that this country would be a bike haven to ride.

I have also been reading a few ride reports on the ADV forum that make Iceland as one of our dream destinations to ride.  We have been warned about the wind in the South but other than that, mild temperatures in Summer and landscape that people swear you can only see while visiting this small beautiful country.  Has anyone been here either riding or just to visit?  Please let us know by commenting and even posting some pictures.  This is a video that was made with a lot of determination and patience.  Please watch the entire video the effort is commendable and the outcome is stellar.

BEST VIEWED IN HD AND FULLSCREEN (with scaling off)

Did Apple redefine photography with the iPhone?

iphone

Could smart phones be the answer to photography equipment consolidation?  We know that in order to document a trip we seem to bring a ton of electronic gear.  Too much we believe…could these phones, specifically the iPhone help to minimize the need for a camcorder, digital point and shoot and even a DSLR?

Thanks RichardM a BLOG reader for this link…I said would be nice to have the iPhone H20 proof, shock proof, dust proof etc…and Richard posted this link  LIFE PROOF CASES CLICK HERE

One of the interesting facts we learned from the Steve Jobs biography is that he planned to revolutionize photography, and he may well have achieved that. Walter Isaacson wrote about Jobs, saying, “He had three things that he wanted to reinvent: the television, textbooks and photography. He really wanted to take these on.”

Despite the growing availability of some impressively small mirrorless digital-camera systems, the market for bridge-style cameras continues to hold its own. If you think about it, it’s kind of cool to know you can purchase a technology-packed digital camera that can capture up to 10 frames per second, HD video with Dolby sound, and sports  a fixed 36x optical zoom lens no less for a few hundred dollars. I take that back. It’s very cool.
