Real Life Gear Testing

Throughout my X Country trip I will be reviewing in detail the gear I use, new and old.  The big new additions to my kit are the KLIM Altitude suit, Shoei RF 1200 helmet, Cardo Q3 intercom, Alpinestars Toucan GoreTex boots ( I have had these for a while and LOVE them) and a new OverBoard Dry bag…

Why not check out my Face Book Page and Ride Report

Mini Moon part III (click the pics)

We just got back on Thursday, August 28th from a 4 night mini-moon bike ride…it was amazing. Rode some back country roads we have never been on and the best part got to see yet another part of our beautiful Province. Weather was OK for the most part until the last 2 days.  It rained on us riding back to Pemberton via the Highline and then it POURED on us heading home.  No biggie we always stay dry wearing our KLIM Traverse gear.  We started out on the Sea to Sky Highway the 99.  Can’t get much closer to the water when you ride this route.

It’s a scenic drive and for those who are not from here this road takes you to Whistler the home of the Winter 2010 Olympics.  Continue reading “Mini Moon part III (click the pics)”

Heidenau Dual Sport Tire

I have embedded a great video made by Revzilla reviewing the tires we choose to use on all our bikes.  We bought our first set back in 2010.  Placed them on our 2010 BMW F650GS bikes.  Rode cross-country on them and came back after 12,000 KM’s with plenty of tread.  Leslie also got a nail on day 2 of our 26 day trip.  We plugged it, centre tread and she rode the entire trip on this plug.  We installed them on the Triumph Tigers we borrowed for Alaska.  Rode over 15,000 KM on all terrain and came back with many KM’s left on that set.  We are now on our fourth set of Heidenau’s using the K60 Scout on our own 2013 BMW F800GS bikes.
