30 Hour Ride – pre post

What can 30 hours get you when on a bike?  Real post coming up soon, but 30 hours takes you about 900 KM’s riding through everything from rain, pouring rain, snow, hail, wind gusts I swear were about 70 KM at times, sun, partly sunny and in the end time away from work which is priceless.  Big post coming up and it will be all about fitting in riding when work gets in the way.

Evolution of a Custom Seat Part II

Still have NOT been on the bike long enough to form an honest opinion and will try to get a 500 KM trip in someday soon.  This is what Janice did to my Renazco seat from my BMW 650GS.  Trimmed the width by the nose and added a gel pad…Once I get some seat time I will let Janice as well as everyone else know what I think of the “new” and improved level of comfort.

KLIM LATITUDE – Second Opinion (w/Modified Collar)

A couple of months ago we sent our jackets back to KLIM USA to have the collars shortened on our Latitude jackets.  This is a mod that anyone can get presently as there have been quite a few complaints about the stiffness and height.  After this trip Cheryl has decided to return to her Traverse suit and has asked me to put her suit up for sale.  I am still up in the air about it.

We have worn this suit for over 6500 KM now.

  • Nov 2012 UPDATE:  We both SOLD our Latitudes.  In the end, nice looking suit but the stiffness of the Cordura was over kill for us.  We are both back to wearing our Traverse and I have to admit the fit of the Traverse pants especially WINS!

The Reality Behind TRUST // Klim

We wear KLIM.  WHY?  Watch this video and everything they claim so far we have found to be true.  One thing the video forgot to say is how great their customer service is, how great the warranty is on their gear and how great their gear lasts.  Waterproofness and durability are two things we were looking for when shopping around.  We spent a lot of money on less expensive gear trying to find our way.

I wish someone would have pointed us into the KLIM direction from the beginning…we would have found a way to save our money.  The Traverse suit, the one we wear right now is not completely off the charts $$ wise but their Latitude, Badlands and Rally suits get up there in price.  Worth it?  depends if you need your gear to be convenient when it comes to waterproofing and breath-ability. If you like your own layering choice as we do KLIM is for you.
