2015 Long Island or Bust Tour – Day 9 (My head)
April 30th 2015 (all pics in any of my posts can be clicked for HI REZ versions)
I feel like I am living the 2002 philosophical travel memoir by Neil Peart, Ghost Rider. I get why he kept going out for his rides.

Everyday the roads I travel are stunning and beautiful. Perfect for a bike or car. However, this day despite what I was seeing my drive felt labored. I knew at some point on this trip my head would give in to what I have left behind. As I get closer to taking my Beagles ashes back to his spot in Wyoming, Cruizer’s rock I call it, I seemed to be feeling quite emotional. Today he would have been 11. Day 28 – Butte, SD to Castlegar, BC
I have been back now almost 2 weeks and have had time to reflect on this trip. I think I feel like most when we return home whether it’s from a weekend trip, month or longer. I have the longing feeling to be back on the road. Don’t get me wrong, life on the road is not easy especially if you have only a certain amount of time to achieve your goal in mileage. There is no time to be lazy, the weather can be daunting but in the end it’s the freedom from reality, the control one has over their own destiny on a daily basis, witnessing your surroundings by being a apart of them versus a passerby that I miss all the time. My Celebration of Life
Keeping with trying to be open minded while in the great magical states of South Dakota and Wyoming I stopped to celebrate Cruizers life.
I saw this American flag off rt. 16 about 100 km’s outside the east entrance to Yellowstone. I was surprised to see such a flag that seemed, I don’t know out of place? Continue reading “My Celebration of Life”
Day 4 – My Humbling Lesson (785.6 KM’s)
I woke up early this morning thinking I won’t wait for Cabelas to open and buy a new SPOT device, I will head southeast and get some mileage under my belt. Sun was shining, packed up quickly and headed towards what I thought was Casper, Wyoming.
THOUGHT! Now, I could just not admit this stupid mistake but I shall share because this trip is all about learning, making mistakes, seeing what works and doesn’t. Stuff like that.
785 KM’s for the day. Sounds pretty good eh? Well, it would have been a very productive day if all the KM’s were in the direction I should have been heading. Continue reading “Day 4 – My Humbling Lesson (785.6 KM’s)”

KLIM Adventure Rally (July 6th – July 20th 2012) part II
This years summer trip was way shorter than last years epic ride with Triumph Canada, 2 Triumph Tiger XC bikes to Alaska. Not 44 days long but only 11. Why? Leslie started a new job in January and was not able to get a large amount of time off this summer. As a matter of fact every day Leslie used for this break from work was banked OT not vacation time because she is not able to take “vacation” until her probation is over. BTW, should have been over July 16th.

In any case, every ride no matter how long or short can turn out to be an adventure and this was no different. This trip we contended with temperatures ranging from 12 C (53 F) to 42 C (107.6 F). The beginning of this trip we saw triple digits. Continue reading “KLIM Adventure Rally (July 6th – July 20th 2012) part II”
2012 Possible Trip
These are rough routes of some of our possible 2012 trips. Would be from middle of May to June. We would most likely go through Alberta more heading back from Flagstaff, Arizona. Please post any MUST ride DS roads anywhere along this route. We will maybe have 24 days. All depends as usual with work.
