Cheryl’s favourite thing about finding lodging that has WiFi is that Leslie occupies herself with the computer stuff in the morning and lets Cheryl SLEEP! It’s a win/win for both of us!
Of course, the great thing about Leslie being an early riser is that she is able to capture photos of the brilliant morning sunrise.
There was something different about this Inn other than we were one of few Caucasians. That is not a big deal. They had cameras all over the joint and when I asked why I was told bad things happen on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. No more was said. I think this may serve as social housing as well. Again not a bad thing just makes for an interesting crowd. The guy above us was a very bad behaved upstairs neighbour. Need I say more.![]()
We grabbed a quick breakfast at McDonalds across the street from our hotel and then we hit the road once again. We were uncertain of our destination as we started our day, but knew we were heading in the general direction of route 37.![]()

The ride from Whitehorse to Junction 37 (the Cassiar highway) was rather unexciting and as such, we did not snap too many photos.
We did happen across this interesting place when we stopped to fill up our bikes.
The wildlife gallery was stunning! Neither of us are big fans of stuffed animals, but this was some extremely well done taxidermy.
Okay, these cute lil guys with Cheryl weren’t the real thing but they sure were adorable!![]()

Golden Eagle
Dall Sheep
Peregrine Falcon
Polar Bear
Arctic Fox
Moose and Wolves
Beavers & a Deer
Lynx
Black Bears
Snowy Owl
Caribou
Grizzly bear
Cheryl desperately needed a cat nap. After all the places we have been tis ride from Whitehorse put her to sleep. Nothing that a 5 hour energy drink can’t handle. Not that we rely on this stuff but it comes in handy when we really need a boost. Works fast too.
I think this sign has been in almost every ride report I have ever read. Next to the Arctic Circle signs I vote this #2.![]()

We really had no idea what to expect from this road but as soon as we got on it I knew the camera would be out a lot.
The road is in great shape, even the “loose gravel” part. Nothing like in the Yukon or Alaska. Piece of cake other than the dust.![]()

You can see the the damage from a recent forest fire. I will have to look up exactly when it was but I think it was last summer.![]()

We can never get enough of seeing Grizzly bears in the wild. Cheryl thought this guy was going to get her so we motored out of his way pretty fast.![]()

This is Mike from Quesnel, BC. He took a liking to the Tiger’s right away and of course heard our story. Grab one of our traveling cards for ACT and off he went on his own adventure. Nice to have met you Mike, enjoy your trip!![]()
We made the decision to head towards Dease Lake even though it was another 130 KM away. I was starting to feel a little well done being up since 0430 and riding over 400 KM all ready. But off we went.![]()

Lucky for us Dease River about 60 KM short of Dease Lake showed up to our left. I was ready to stop and here we landed. Very cool campground with cheap site. $15 for right on the lake. No power, no WIFI, just the lake and tent.
Looks at our VIEW from our site. They have cabins here too for $60. Very nice as well. If it was raining you know where we would be tonight.![]()

We are getting so much smarter with our beer stash. Buy and bring it to camp and find a cold lake to chill it. or a cold river like we did at Liberty Falls. Perfect! Fire and beer.![]()

This inverter is awesome and working out really well for the essentials. Our intercoms and camera batteries. Things we need everyday to work. No issues with my battery and as for my stalling? Sure did stall today but we found a quick fix and have no really idea why it works. Every time my bikes dies, we stop. Turn the key off, Cheryl plays with throttle cable, turn the bike on, let the computer do it’s thing and bingo, the bikes starts and runs for quite awhile. So, this is our routine to keep my bike for not ever starting. Once is stalls same routine all over to get me going.
We really believe this problem has to do with the throttle position sensor. Something do with the throttle hence idling. Now all we need is a permanent fix. Still LOVE the bikes tough.![]()
So, after a slow start to the day, got rained on just a little bit today, nothing too serious we end the day with sun, a great road the Cassier Highway and fantastic night to camp.![]()
