After we got settled in our motel and since the bike was stalling even as we pulled up to the Westmark Motel I calmed down a bit because Cheryl has a reassuring way about her when things don’t go as planned.  I am the worrier and need everything in its place.  Cheryl has confidence in herself that whatever is going on with my bike at this moment, she can deal with it and make it work well enough until we can get it back to Western Powersports in Langley.  The Tiger’s home base.

In the morning we took a walk about Skagway which for a Sunday early morning was all ready full of cruise ship tourists and stores were open for business. We liked the town but not as much as Dawson City.  Skagway is definitely a tourist trap and set up for the cruise ships not so much ADV riders.  So, we had a quick bite to eat and got out of town a lot sooner than planned.

As soon as you leave Skagway you head up White Pass and when we got there visibility was barely 10 feet at times.  So, rain and no visibility we took it slowly until we got to the Canadian Border where the clouds broke and the sun eventually came out.  The Border guard said it has been like this for 2 weeks in the pass so we do not feel ripped off not seeing anything.  Sounds as though the hundreds of visitors like us have been getting the same deal for awhile now.

The lakes are such a vibrant blue you really feel as though you are in the tropics and not the Yukon.

Just a quick layover in Carcross and we met some really nice guys who seem to think the stalling issue with our bikes might have something to do with the throttle piston sensor.  Sounds good to us but who really knows at this point.  Cheryl tweaked the throttle cable here and from Carcross to Whitehorse the bike ran well with no stalling at all.  Go figure.

Will post their names when Cheryl wakes up but these were two very nice guys who seemed really interested in our bikes, trip and the stalling issues. They had their own ideas which make sense but in the end Triumph needs to figure this out.  Great meeting you both! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Rick and Jeff Cheryl reminded me!

Whitehorse General Hospital is a hospital that we get many patients from at St. Paul’s in Vancouver.  Should really stop by their ICU and check it out but hey, I am not working am I?  I will pass and keep the picture.

The ride was very short lived today and we thought while in Whitehorse we would try and get a motorcycle shop to take a look at the bike.  We have since then decided, forget it.  We will make due and ride them the way they are. Plan now is to leave Whitehorse after only one night and get back to BC and start the trek home via the Cassiar.  We have not done this part of BC and if you check out SPOTWalla page, get ride of 90% of the GPS locations, zoom out and go back over a month you will see a HUGE loop we have done on this trip.  I will post a pic of our route soon. 

Bikes now have 11,000 KM on them, so do the brake pads and tires.  All look good, knock on wood.  The chain we think is pretty stretched to it’s max and hopefully will make it home.  The sprockets look good for what the have been through too. 

We are in good shape too and looking forward to the home stretch!
