Apple Products vs. Apple the Fruit (Infographic)

Cheryl and I own some Apple devices…such as both of us have iPhones and iPads.Β  I have tried to make the switch to an Apple laptop but not “ready” yet.Β  I need the Apple laptop to be able to run a decent money program.Β  Quicken stopped for now making software for the new OS used with Apple. I need or want to be able to use FLASH.Β  But that is about it..that is what holds me back from keeping an Apple laptop.Β  We love our phones, Cheryl LOVES her iPad and I am just getting used to the Pad but can’t see it replacing my laptop.Β  Over consumers we are with some things but Apple sure makes reliable products and makes some things in our lives “easier”

I thought this article was a very creative way discussing APPLES and Apple…..have a good read!

Some interesting info from our BLOG…40.7% are using windows as their operating system and 22.4% are using Apple.Β  The rest is using phones etc…cool stats are being produced now that I have some stat programs running in the background.Β  This info has only been gathered since Dec. 22, 2011.Β  I sure wish I knew how to use all this BLOG stuff over the summer to keep track of visitors but I had no idea what I was doing when we put this together for our Triumph trip.

Apple iPhone, iPad, Macbooks vs. Real Apples

Every now and then, my crazy family inspires something great, like this infographic. I had a twenty minute conversation over Christmas where I was trying to make it clear I meant Apple (as in the iPhone) and not apple (as in the fruit). I am not sure I successful. However, it gave me the idea for this great graphic. Take a look at how the ones we talk on measure up to the ones we eat (and see it in all its glory here).

  1. That’s very creative, funny stuff.

I’ve been an Apple product user for almost 28 years. In that time if I could’ve purchased Apple stock at the time instead of one of those early laptops or two, I’d be a zillionaire. Instead, I still buy Apple products and they fit my needs.

Apple Laptops run flash just fine. iOS devices, that’s a different story. I was a Quicken user for 20+ years and only stopped when I migrated to Lion. I know use iBank. It’s a pretty good replacement for Quicken. You will have to look at the feature list to see if it’s a substitute for things you use Quicken for. It was for me so the conversion was not a problem.

In the mean time, I received an spam e-mail from the Quicken CEO stating they’d make a legacy version of Quicken compatible with Lion. It’s supposed to come out in the spring sometime. I’ll believe it when I see it.

    Cheers

    Tom

  2. I tried recently a Mac Book Pro and could not run a Flash video of a live camera I wanted to watch. So I am confused when you say Apple can run Flash. Also, most other money programs do not have many Canadian banks listed and can not be used with their programs…I might have to check out iBank and see…

  3. There are some applications that let you work with a virtual Windows OS on your Mac, like Bootcamp allowing you to use Windows-only software on your Mac. Bill Gates is an outstanding businessman but a mediocre engineer and Steve Jobs, may he rest in peace, was first of all an outstanding engineer and all of their products show that.

So, for what it may worth, my advise is to verify with your Apple vendor what is involved in the installation of a virtual Windows environment in your Mac, browse some Apple-related forums about your specific needs (Quicken, Flash, etc.) and then plunge into the wonderful world of stable, well-engineered and well-built Apple laptops/desktops. Buy an external disk to run your back-ups and be prepared to be amazed by the way you can recover previous versions of your computer or of any specific file (even the smartest end-user sometimes fumbles and needs to retrace his steps). As every Apple-designed system, is simple, powerful and dependable. If only Mr. Jobs would have taken an interest in motorcycle design…

    1. you should sell Apple products! LOL πŸ˜‰

  4. And that is a fact, grrl. I enjoy a well-engineered product and also enjoy helping others enjoy the same experience, be it a motorcycle, a computer, a watch or any other product or service. I especially enjoy freeing someone from the greedy hands of Mr. Gates. Sadly, I can only enjoy Macs at home, because our Company only allows Microsoft software on our workstations, so you can imagine my expletives every time my computer crashes, decides on my behalf what it thinks is best for me or simply does not deliver as expected.

    1. I have predicted Apple to take over sales in about another 3 years…their pricing needs to come down a bit for them to take over Microsoft and PC’s.

  5. The Flash thing is weird as I’ve never had an issue running Flash on any of my Macs. I do have plug-ins installed to not download and run any Flash unless I authorize it (I have the same plug-ins installed on my Windows machines as well). The MacBook you borrowed may have had a plug-in similar to that installed. I’m in the non-committal group and run OS X, Windows and Linux all on both desktops and servers. Though the machine I haul around everywhere is a MacBook Air.

    1. I am going to make the move soon I feel it…plus, I just feel so much peer pressure since I own the iphone and pad! πŸ˜‰
