Day 16-Will be sad to leave LI but did manage to see most of my family who are mainly camera shy except mom and dad
My family really doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of riding long distances to not only clear the head but just for the utter enjoyment of touring.Β Doesn’t matter though…it’s all good.Β Great seeing them at this time in my life.

My riding buddies to Montauk Point, Long Island yesterday. Dean from when I was a kid and Mani from Adv Rider Forum
Can you guess who rides the Harley and who is on the GS? π
We rode around the entire eastern half of Long Island in perfect weather. Did about 168 miles or 273 km’s.

North Fork to South Fork via a couple of little ferries through Shelter Island. I grew up here and have never explored the Island like this before and it was an amazing side trip.

Went to see another old friend but this one Matt was lost at sea out there at the very young age of 23. He’s on the memorial plaque behind the lighthouse. June 24,1990 it was and Matt was never to be found. Very emotional.

Living in the Vancouver area of BC you don’t get to see the ocean in this form

Like I said great ride and I hope Mani can put together an update from his perspective. Today I make the u-turn heading back home. Will head to Connecticut later via the Bridgport Ferry and get my service done at MAX BMW in Brookfield, CT tomorrow morning. Next head to Geneva, NY for my next stop and visit at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. My Alma mater and to see my old soccer coach.
Sad I only have 2 weeks left. Hopefully a full report from another my guest writer soon.
