Love this picture of Cheryl on the McCarthy – Kennicott Pedestrian bridge where bikes are allowed to ride over….very hippy dippy area in Alaska! 😉

We took the BMW R1200GS, Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere, Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 and KTM 990 Adventure on an off-road adventure and to really test their abilities, we enlisted Stan Watt, who finished 34th in this year’s Dakar Rally. Once again a rider has really been able to capture via his video just what ADV riding is all about. I am not sure we would ever be able to just ride pavement ever…well, we might have to when we get older… 😉 Everyday I see the majority of bikes being cruisers on the road. …
Our day started out early because we had to get down to our dealer PACIFIC MOTOSPORTS to get our new tires mounted. We are leaving we hope Monday for just a short 2 weeks trip down to the KLIM Adventure rally and then we are not sure where.
Heading into a very rainy Atigun Pass, Summer 2011. We left for 44 days last year on June 29th. A part of me feels a little sad that we are not leaving this year for a similar trip. We would go back to Alaska in a heart beat and one day will return…some reflective pictures…
For More Info on all this stuff go to Powerlet Equipped I got a message from one our readers on FB and he asked about how we charged our phones while on our trip riding the Triumph Tigers. The answer is really easy and I thought I would share what works for us and perhaps…

What a bike can look like after riding the Dempster in the pouring rain….this is from July 9th 2011. Have fun 2012 adventurers to the North! 😉 I selected this post to be featured on my blog’s page at Personal Blogs.
Again like our post about the Dalton Highway, we thought we would take this opportunity to introduce the Dempster for those who are going to embark on this specific road this summer. Also, for those who missed our summer 2011 post about this amazing road. The DEMPSTER…what to say. All depends on the weather and…
This is WHAT ADV riding is all about….those who ride the pavement only…need to watch this more than folks like us! 😉
Make sure you watch the video…nice review…I am sure many more to come…I like this one! They mention 10,000 service intervals and 20,000 in between the major ones…same as BMW basically so not so new to the ADV bikes nowadays. Most new engines are requiring less time being “serviced”. Change your oil and all is…
