I was able to take two nights off and use a day to replenish some items I needed for the trip back , like get a new camping stove. I broke my other one days ago.
Now I can get back to at least boiling water when I want and need to.
It was nice to get off the bike for a bit and to hang out with my brother and his family. They live in a beautiful comfortable house here in North Carolina. First time I have made it down since they moved from NY in 1999. I moved to Canada in 1998 and haven’t been able to fit this trip in until now.
Good food, crazy kids that are growing up and nice company. Should stay longer but the road is calling and I do still have that reality of returning home to work.
This newer version of the stove I had is pretty cool. Drips fuel into a little pan and the almost if not vaporizes it into a blue flame right away. Pretty neat little thing. So, all tested and seems to work well. Now all I have to do is take care of it while in my luggage. 🙂
Took advantage of this layover and did some laundry. Even washed my gear. I will be reviewing this new KLIM Altitude suit soon and have been in touch with KLIM as well. They just need to know about the leather panel issues (the gray dye wears off quickly showing the black natural leather) and perhaps just some input from me regarding this suit as a long distance suit, etc. Nothing major. Constructive criticism.
My bike has an even driveway to be parked on for 2 days now. But I am off heading north-east today to WIlliamsburg, VA and then north to Long Island. I will be in need of a service, new tires etc by NY, I hope to get my bike taken care by a BMW dealer in Connecticut. More on that later.
Going to have a decent breakfast and off I go. I want to stop by the Charlotte BMW dealer on my way out-of-town too.
If you want to see where I am while I am riding, follow this LINK and click here to have a peek. The map will refresh every 10 mins and if you want in the left side panel you can play with filters to see weather, traffic and how many days you want to see the track from. It’s neat I think but up to you.
Next post maybe in a few days. My route as always will take form day by day. Leslie
